Rep. John Schlegel Announces Re-Election Bid for PA State House

Lebanon – Today, Republican John Schlegel announced his intention to seek re-election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, continuing his service to 101^st Legislative District. Schlegel is currently serving his second term representing the 101st District which consists of Cornwall Borough, North Cornwall Twp., West Cornwall Twp., Lebanon City, North Lebanon Twp., South Lebanon Twp., and West Lebanon Twp.

During his tenure, Schlegel has serves on the House Aging and Older Citizens, Children & Youth, Education, and Human Services Committees. He is the Republican Chair of the House Education Subcommittee on Career & Technology Education & was appointed to the Pennsylvania Commission on Alzheimer’s,Dementia, and Related Disorders.

Schlegel has focused on practical solutions that support local businesses, protects taxpayers, and strengthens communities. His work has been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Businesses for consistently supporting policies that help small businesses grow and succeed.

“I believe effective government starts with listening,” Schlegel said. “I work hard to remain visible and accessible to constituents, to hear their concerns, and to collaborate with colleagues to find solutions that work for our communities.”

Schlegel continues to advocate for legislation driven by constituent priorities, including efforts to save taxpayers money, protect consumers from fraud, and support health care and behavioral health initiatives. He is also a co-sponsor of House Bill 900 which seeks long-term solutions to Pennsylvania’s property tax system.

“It is an honor to represent the people of the 101^st District and I respectfully ask for your support in the May 19 primary election”, Schlegel said. “I intend to continue being a strong voice in Harrisburg for Lebanon County.”

Looking ahead, Schlegel said the foundation of his platform includes strengthening the local economy, keeping cost of living affordable, and ensuring safe welcoming communities.

A lifelong Republican and former educator Schlegel resides in Cornwall Borough with his wife, Ruth Ann.
