Lebanon – Today, Republican John Schlegel announced his intention to seek re-election as state
representative. Schlegel is serving his first term representing the 101st district in Lebanon County,
which consists of Cornwall Borough, North Cornwall Twp., West Cornwall Twp., Lebanon City,
North Lebanon Twp., South Lebanon Twp., and West Lebanon Twp.
Schlegel serves on the House Aging and Older Citizens, Children & Youth, Education, and Human
Services Committees. He has a 100% attendance record in the House chamber and is active in all
committee voting sessions and hearings.
During his first year in office, Schlegel co-sponsored several bills, including HB 27, to address a
substitute teacher shortage throughout Pennsylvania, which was recently signed into law. Schlegel also
received a perfect 100% on his voting record from The National Federation of Independent
Businesses. He is currently working on legislation to address local issues initiated by constituents.
“Lebanon County is the second fastest-growing county in Pennsylvania. Along with growth comes
a need to work with people to address challenges that arise,” stated Schlegel.
“I plan to serve the people by continuing to be visible and accessible to my constituents. Listening
to their concerns and communicating in multiple ways is crucial to my work on their behalf,
Schlegel continues.
“It is an honor to represent the people of the 101 st and I ask for your support in the April 23 primary
election. I intend to continue to be a strong voice in Harrisburg on behalf of my constituents.

Schlegel is a lifelong Republican and former educator who resides in Cornwall borough with his
wife, Ruth Ann. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.
